When it comes to addiction treatment, it’s important to know about the different steps in the process, because knowledge is power, and having the resources to turn to during this difficult time will put your mind at ease.
It’s true that there are varying degrees of addiction. But, in any case, deciding to take the first, big step toward getting clean and sober can be hard. It means facing your fears and insecurities. It also means learning how to cope with various situations. Recovery involves addressing each bad habit and each underlying factor. The path to success means battling all the monsters of this disease.
While it’s true that a comprehensive rehab experience away from home may be the best way to start recovery, entering the wrong program can easily lead to relapse. Addiction is a cunning and powerful disease that alters the mind. Asking for help is a big step, and one that will ultimately save a life and choosing the right rehab facility for anyone who is struggling with addiction takes time and effort. A facility that will provide the treatment and lifestyle you need is the key to sobriety.
After an individual agrees to seek treatment, they will undergo a process commonly referred to as Intake. The addiction specialists at Crest View Recovery Center make this first step in the recovery process as smooth as possible. Clients undergo this comprehensive process to help determine the best course of action.
During the evaluation, our intake team will give an introduction to the center and perform psychological and medical evaluations. This helps to ensure each patient’s needs are met throughout treatment. These steps are crucial to understanding one’s medical history in order to properly diagnose any underlying issues. Addressing all the issues that relate to drug addiction or treatment can help to ensure long-term sobriety.
A vital part of the rehabilitation from alcohol or drug addiction is understanding there is a problem and looking for support. Once that decision is made, there are a range of therapies available as part of substance abuse rehabilitation programs. These include detoxification, drug addiction medications, inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation, interventions, and support groups. It is important to understand that every addict needs a customized treatment plan to overcome their alcohol or drug abuse problems in an effective program that meets their needs both physically and emotionally. But, how effective is each type? Truth is, both our supervised housing rehabilitation and intensive outpatient programs have unique benefits and application. It is important to note that choosing the correct program is based on a variety of factors, and on an individualistic basis, as everyone’s story is different, and therefore, treatment will vary.
What exactly is a Supervised Housing Rehabilitation Program? When an individual with severe addiction problems enters this type of program, sometimes referred to as a Partial Hospitalization Program, patients are checked into our Supervised Housing Facility with 24-hour support to overcome their addictions. This type of program essentially gives those struggling with these serious drug or alcohol problems, space and time to focus on learning and creating a healthy lifestyle for themselves without external distractions.
During Supervised Housing treatment, residents meet with psychologists, counselors, and psychiatrists in individual and group settings to guide them with their recovery process. Successful programs, such as Crest View’s, rely heavily on support systems, especially family. When it comes to residents communicating with their loved ones, each center’s policies are different. However, we believe that family involvement is crucial to one’s recovery. Family members can contact their loved ones in Supervised Housing treatment to provide emotional support and encouragement but in a monitored fashion.
The benefits of the Supervised Housing Treatment program include:
While our Supervised Housing program focuses on setting you up for long-term sobriety, outpatient rehabilitation programs are more part-time in nature, allowing an individual to keep their normal daily routine, such as going to work or school during the day while in recovery. While patients in our Supervised Housing program come here to live at a facility, those in the Intensive outpatient program do not. This program requires an individual to visit our treatment facility for meetings and return home afterward.
According to research, patients with mild-to-moderate addictions can find success with an Intensive Outpatient Program. This, however, may not always be beneficial for those struggling with more severe problems, where supervision in a different environment away from home is needed.
The benefits of our Intensive Outpatient program include:
It’s important to note that many rehabilitation facilities offer an institutionalized version of residential treatment. While it may be effective short term, evidence has shown that many clients relapse upon leaving treatment. Many times, relapses also occur because these treatment programs don’t adequately prepare individuals for life outside of a treatment facility.
At Crest View Recovery Center, this is not the case. All of our clients receive the highly individualized care they need and deserve from our multidisciplinary team of specialists. From the beginning to the end of treatment, we walk with our clients. Our team makes sure that each patient’s needs are met. We work to ensure that our clients can live a healthy life after they leave our facility.
Our programs are designed to provide the best resources, such as reality-based therapy as an effective form of treatment, in helping our individuals develop effective coping techniques while in treatment and after. Also, our substance abuse treatment programs teach our client’s what has been fueling their addiction so that they can learn how to deal with the issues head-on.
Experts in addiction treatment believe that taking care of your mind, body, and spirit is conducive and essential for those who are looking to live a life of sobriety. Most people are aware of the mind-body connection, and how your mental processes can affect your physical state. Researchers call this “embodied cognition”. It plays a major role for someone who is addicted to drugs and alcohol, or both.
Recovery from addiction is an everyday practice that can be overwhelming at times. Even those who have been successful at remaining clean and sober for a while sometimes become doubtful or fearful.
